Pygmy is a small scale — a handful of intervals that sit close together and refuse to sound wrong against each other. That is the whole appeal. You are not choosing notes, you are choosing where in the silence to put them. Players who find bigger scales busy tend to end up here and stay.
This one is in F#, fourteen notes on top and seven below, in a brown finish that goes almost copper under warm light.
How it sounds
Darker than the Amara and slower to let go. The low notes have a long, wide decay that fills a room without getting loud, which makes it a genuinely good instrument for playing at night. The extra top notes give you somewhere to move without ever leaving the mood.
Who it is for
Someone who has played before and knows they want atmosphere over melody. Also a strong choice if you record — Pygmy sits in a mix without fighting anything else.

This is not the one to learn on. Pygmy rewards restraint, and restraint is hard before your hands know what they are doing. If this is your first instrument, look at the Amara instead.
